They had their shot at fame. Now they’re old enough to know better, but reckless enough to try again.

Rupert Vexley used to have it all: money, status, and a meticulously controlled life. But when the world shifts and the banking industry spits him out, Rupert finds himself rich but aimless: an aging rebel with nothing left to prove.

Then he stumbles across an old video of his long-dead punk band, Generation Vex. In a flash of nostalgia (and midlife panic), Rupert hatches a plan to reunite the band and relive his glory days. This time, though, he’s dragging his reluctant son, Elliot, into the chaos as their “manager.”

Elliot wants nothing to do with it. Drifting through a life that doesn’t fit, the last thing he needs is his dad’s delusional rock ’n’ roll comeback tour. But the lure of easy money, loud guitars, and bad decisions proves hard to resist.

What follows is a riotous road back to nowhere, full of misfired dreams, spectacular disasters, and one father-son relationship teetering on the brink. Because some rebellions can’t be resurrected without consequences…

Generation Vex is a sharp, darkly funny punk comedy about second chances, family screw-ups, and the chaos of chasing the past. Perfect for fans of Nick Hornby, Douglas Coupland, and anyone who’s ever wondered what would happen if your dad tried to start a band again.
