Sit Down Tragedy

Reggie is a manic depressive stand-up comic who’s doing his best to stay grounded.

He’s got Daz, his lifelong best mate and comedic lifeline, an autistic housemate who’s surprisingly nurturing (and more than a little odd), and a sister with two chaotic kids who he adores. Add in a therapist who’s just trying to make sense of it all, and Reggie might just be holding it together.

But when the familiar spiral of a depressive episode hits, it’s Daz’s irreverent jokes, pinging through text, and his no-nonsense agent, Zara, who rescues him from the brink. Zara has a proposal: a TV show, “Blokes About Britain.” Picture this: Reggie and Daz, two middle-aged emotional wrecks, driving through the UK, riffing on the country’s literary and cultural quirks. It’s an offer that could change everything.

And then, just when he thinks life can’t get more complicated, Reggie witnesses a young comic he’s been mentoring, Sammy Turner, delivering a set so raw and brilliant that it leaves him speechless. Then Sammy does the unthinkable, he kisses him. Full-on. And that, it turns out, might just be the wildest thing to happen to Reggie yet.

In a world where humor is the only thing keeping him afloat, Reggie’s about to find out that sometimes the biggest laugh is the one you never saw coming.

This is a story about life, love, and the most unexpected moments that force us to confront who we really are.
